| Excellent Food in Tsuen Wan
Tao Heung Restaurant (City Landmark I), 68 Chung On Street, Shop A, 5/F , Tsuen Wan Tel. 2940-7838, web: www.taoheung.com.hk HK$188
They were having a special on steamed shrimp for HK$40. The order was huge and really delicious—served with a soy sauce and chili mixture. We also ordered a tofu dish that was a little bland. I went to the table where they had the hot pot condiment trays and got a little of everything to add to the tofu and then it was very good. We also ordered a vegetable dish made of winter melon, bamboo pith, assorted mushrooms and broccoli. It was excellent. Our server was very good and so was her English. For dessert, we had an almond pudding that was served hot. It was very, very good. All in all a delightful meal and cost HK$188 for 2.
We went back the next day because I thought I dropped my eyeglass case on the floor next the table where we were sitting. Indeed I had and the maitre d’ remembered us and had them in the lost and found for me. PHEW!
We had to wait for about an hour but we had a wonderful dim sum experience on a Saturday. We were seated at a large table with two different groups: a family and a mother and daughter. They were pleasant and it made our experience better. A man a neighboring table also helped us to order because there weren’t carts at this restaurant. There were pictures of some dishes and there was a menu of some of the items with translations in English. We had about 6 or 7 dishes, all were well prepared and tasty. And they were served hot! We recommend this restaurant highly! Our dim sum experience cost a grand total of HK$88 for 2! |
