| Are you mad enough to try this?
I definitely was mad enough to wait for a friend to finish work in the heart of KL city and brave the traffic to Kota Damansara to check out the cool vintage delivery Vespas I had heard to much about.
Okay... okay... so it wasn't just the vintage bikes that drew us there. Anyway, to cut this short, there were 3 and a half of us hogging out on the meatlover's pizza, spaghetti bolognaise and fried chicken.
The reasons to go mad over madaboutpizza are:
The food (of course):
In every franchise pizza outlet around, you'd have to do the following (especially if you're finicky like yours truly): Lift a slice of pizza from the pan/place, place it on the napkin on your own plate and let the oil beneath the crust soak into the napkin before you actually take a bite of the slice
** Didn't have to do that here definitely - slice went straight into my gob and down my gut without all the blotting protocol.
It was the same with the friend chicken - not oily though fried to perfection and fresh (none of that over frozen, old coagulated oil flavor)
The pasta... ahh.. the pasta... what can i say? It was flavourful (is there even such a word?) and simply just spot on. What's more, it was a huge helping for just one!
The ambience:
Peaceful, chillout, relaxed and availability of reading materials around for the bookworm makes it even more appealing for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of the usual eateries in and around KL
The delivery Vespa:
Ok.. ok.. so I just can't get over these vintage machines...
Would I go back there for a bite? Yup!
Would I bring friends? Yup! Yup!
Would I brave KL traffic again just to get to this end of the world? Yup! Yup! Yup!~
If a picture can speak a thousand words, then the accompanying photo says it all...

| Great Pizzas, Delicious Pastas- a refreshing change from the chains
We stumbled upon this great pizza place by chance as we stopped at the 7-Eleven next door to it. What caught our attention was the bright red colored Vespas they use for delivery that was parked in front of the cafe. We decided to go in for dinner later that evening.
The place wasn't that busy since it just opened for business three months or so according to the friendly waitress we spoke to. We ordered a thin crust 11 inch (regular)Meatlover pizza Deal that came with Spiced Chicken Wings, a Cheesy Spring roll to start, a Cheeseburger set, a Penne Arabiata and a Linguini alla Pollo with some fresh lemonade to wash it down.
The Spring rolls were very nice, a different twist to our usual vegetable spring roll. The wings were more like Boxing chicken. The size was small but definitely big on taste.
When the two pastas were served together with the pizza and the burger, we realized we might have ordered too much food for four.
The pizza came with very generous toppings and cheese. The pizza sauce complemented the taste of the dough and the toppings very well. The pizza dough tasted very fresh.
The pastas were a good portion for one that can actually be shared by two. The Arabiata sauce came with fresh basil and tomatoes while the linguini was really nice that I was left licking my spoon. The pastas are definitely restaurant quality not like any pizza-chain store quality.
They make their own beef patty for the burger and it came 6 inch bun. The fresh lemonade was very refreshing as it came with fresh mint leaves and definitely didn't come from any cordial bottle. Everything we ordered was deliciously, till we saw how much it all costs. We thought it would have atleast cost us RM80.00 but altogether it was only about RM60.00.
Will definitely come back for more. |
