HungryGoWhere.com successfully raises $5,000 for charity while highlighting our heritage food and hawkers

SINGAPORE, 10TH DECEMBER 2008... HungryGoWhere.com is proud to announce that it has successfully raised $5,000 for charity at the HungryGoWhere Big Eat Out held on 22 Nov 08 at the Peranakan Museum. The HungryGoWhere Big Eat Out attracted around 2,000 people to the event, with everyone enjoying the superb heritage hawker food sold by nine heritage hawkers brought down there by HungryGoWhere.com in support of charity.

"Our heritage hawkers are an integral part of our national heritage, and we are proud to have been recognized by the National Heritage Board as a partner during their Explore Singapore campaign in identifying and bringing together these heritage hawkers for The HungryGoWhere Big Eat Out in support of charity" says Dennis Goh, Managing Director for HungryGoWhere.com. "With the National Heritage Board's support, we are exploring further opportunities on how we can preserve our heritage hawkers and restaurants' legacy in Singapore. Given their significant contribution to our food scene through the years, it would be a tremendous waste to allow them to disappear from our culinary landscape. We need to preserve them for our future generations. Do rest assured that HungryGoWhere.com, with the support of its fast growing, almost 300,000 strong community using HungryGoWhere.com, would be doing all it can in the coming months to help preserve the legacy of our heritage restaurants and hawkers in Singapore. Please stay tuned for further updates on this front. "
